Nav Thind
With over 18 years of experience as a specialist palliative care nurse, Nav has worked extensively across both inpatient and community palliative care settings.
Throughout his career, he saw firsthand the challenges faced by people with complex and progressive neurological conditions who wanted to remain living safely and comfortably in their own homes. He recognised a significant gap in home care — particularly a lack of specialised staff training, clinical oversight and coordinated care for people with complex needs.
This inspired Nav to establish ASN Nursing and Care, with a vision to provide a higher standard of home-based care built around clinical expertise, skilled and well-trained staff, consistency and genuine person-centred support.
Today, ASN Nursing and Care has grown to a team of more than 100 dedicated professionals, supporting individuals and families across metropolitan Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula.
Despite our growth, our purpose remains the same: to provide compassionate, clinically informed care that enables people with complex needs to live safely, comfortably and with dignity in their own homes.
Aman Panag
Aman Panag
Aman is an experienced specialist Intensive Care (ICU) nurse who plays a key role in overseeing the training and clinical competency of our team in high-intensity and complex care.
Aman provides hands-on, face-to-face training to ensure our staff have the knowledge, practical skills and confidence required to safely support clients with complex care needs. Her areas of training include medication management and safety, ventilator management, PEG tube management, tracheostomy care and severe dysphagia management.
Through practical training, competency assessments and ongoing clinical guidance, Aman helps ensure our team maintains a consistently high standard of safe, skilled and person-centred care in the home.
Prab Cheema
Prab Cheema
Prab is an experienced Registered Nurse who plays an integral role in the development and implementation of individualised client support plans, risk management strategies, medication management plans and clinical care plans for clients with complex and high-intensity support needs.
With extensive experience in the aged care sector, Prab understands the complexities of supporting people to live safely at home and the importance of promptly identifying and responding to clinical concerns as they arise.
Working closely with Nav and Aman, Prab provides ongoing clinical guidance and daily support to our staff while they are on shift, helping ensure clients receive safe, responsive and consistent care in their own homes.
Manni Josan
Manni Josan
Manni is an experienced support worker and Roster Coordinator at ASN Nursing and Care. With an overseas nursing qualification and currently completing the final year of her Bachelor of Nursing, she brings a valuable combination of frontline care experience and clinical knowledge to her role.
Having worked directly with clients as a support worker, Manni has a strong understanding of the importance of matching clients with team members who have the right skills, experience and approach to meet their individual care needs.
Working closely with Sandy and ASN’s clinical team, Manni assists with day-to-day rostering, shift coordination and staff allocation, helping maintain consistency and continuity of care across our services.
Her hands-on care experience and nursing background provide her with a practical understanding of both client needs and the demands placed on staff delivering complex care in the home.
Sandy Kaur
Sandy Kaur
Sandy plays a central role in coordinating client services and ensuring the smooth day-to-day delivery of care at ASN Nursing and Care.
With a professional background in the corporate sector, Sandy brings extensive experience in managing large teams, coordinating complex rosters and ensuring services are delivered efficiently and responsively. This experience enables her to balance the operational demands of a large care team while keeping the individual needs of each client at the centre of service delivery.
Working closely with clients, families and our care teams, Sandy oversees rostering and service coordination, with a strong focus on matching clients with the right staff and maintaining consistency and continuity of care.
As a key point of contact for clients and families, Sandy brings strong communication and relationship-management skills to her role. She responds promptly to changing care needs, coordinates staffing and ensures communication between clients, families, support workers and the clinical team remains clear, timely and responsive.
Working alongside ASN’s clinical team, Sandy helps build reliable and well-coordinated care teams that understand each client’s individual needs, routines and preferences.
Nursing Team Members
We understand how important it can be for a person to remain at home, surrounded by familiar faces, family and the comforts of their own environment, particularly as they approach the later stages of life.
Our Specialist Palliative Care Nursing Team provides compassionate and experienced nursing support to help make this possible. Our nurses bring specialist palliative care experience into the home, providing thoughtful, responsive care focused on comfort, dignity and each person’s individual wishes.
We work closely with community palliative care services, GPs, treating teams and families to ensure care is well coordinated and that changes in a person’s needs are recognised and responded to promptly.
Our support extends beyond the person receiving care. We understand how overwhelming this time can be for families, and our nurses are there to provide guidance, reassurance and a calm, experienced presence when it is needed most.
Support Workers
Our Support Worker Team Leaders are experienced members of the ASN Nursing and Care team with strong backgrounds in complex and high-intensity care.
They play an important role in supporting, guiding and mentoring our support workers, particularly new team members as they transition into their roles and become familiar with individual clients.
Working closely with our clinical team, Team Leaders provide hands-on guidance during orientation and buddy shifts, helping staff understand each client’s individual care needs, routines, preferences and support requirements.
Through ongoing mentoring and practical support, our Team Leaders help maintain consistency across our care teams and ensure staff feel confident, supported and well-prepared to deliver safe, respectful and person-centred care.
A family’s experience
Lisa & Rick’s story
Lisa has been living with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) for the past two years. Since November 2025, ASN Nursing and Care has had the privilege of supporting Lisa and Rick at home as Lisa’s care needs have changed.
Throughout this journey, our focus has been on providing Lisa with consistent, compassionate and skilled care, while working closely with Rick and their family to ensure they feel supported and reassured along the way.
